Stress ball or stress cube — which is better?
Cubes give you edges and corners to press into, which many people find more satisfying than a smooth sphere. Balls fit the palm better for full-hand squeezing. If you are buying for grip strength rather than fidgeting, a graded resistance ball or therapy putty is the better tool.
Do stress balls actually reduce stress?
They give you a repetitive physical outlet, which can help with self-regulation and focus for some people. They are not a treatment for anxiety. If fidgeting is helping you cope with something bigger, that is worth talking to a professional about.
Why do gel stress balls break?
The outer skin is thin by design, so the toy stays squeezable. Fingernails and repeated over-stretching split it. Larger, thicker-walled cubes last considerably longer than cheap gel balls.
